What is the 51% rule; does it apply to me and/or my aircraft? |

Title 14, Code of Federal Regulations (14 CFR), part 21, section 21.191(g), defines an amateur-built aircraft as an aircraft “the major portion (51%) of which has been fabricated and assembled by person(s) who undertook the construction project solely for their own education or recreation.” More information can be found in our Builder's Assistance area. |

AOAircrafters specializes in amateur built/experimental aircraft. AOAircrafters will soon be accepting vintage aircraft repair and condition inspections on amateur built/experimental aircraft and custom composite work for aircraft. |
